But they may not need to provide the physical force to move it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first step is therefore to separate the professional work from the handling around it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fact that an operator is essential to the process does not mean every action around that process has the same value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Automating a task does not mean replacing a profession<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Automation is often framed as a choice between two extremes: an operation decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Checking its load, confirming arrival and addressing an anomaly are different responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These functions should not be confused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A system can provide the force, follow a route or reach an area, while the operator retains:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>preparation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>authorization;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>supervision;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>final inspection;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>handling deviations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preserving on-site expertise<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Operators know the details of the real destination;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>supervising movement;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>confirming arrival;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>intervening when a situation falls outside the expected conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The system then handles the movement function without taking control of the process away from the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Which handling tasks should be assessed first?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not every manual operation calls for assistance or automation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first operations to assess are those with a recurring, observable constraint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Repetitive movements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A movement repeated along an identifiable route is a good starting point for analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Repeatability makes the operation easier to describe, but does not alone justify automation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You also need to understand the load, variations, decisions required and exceptional situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Maneuvers that require several people<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some structures require several people mainly to provide force, maintain visibility or coordinate orientation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In that case, the question is whether all of them truly need to be involved throughout the maneuver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Operations that vary with the load or environment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A structure may be easy to move when empty and become difficult It starts when the previous operation stops and ends when the next can actually resume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Document normal and exceptional situations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Observations should include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a different load;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>an obstructed passage;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>an unavailable destination;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a need to reverse course;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a fault;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>an interruption;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>maintenance intervention;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the absence of someone normally called upon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A solution designed only for the ideal scenario may be difficult to use day to day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Listen to informal strategies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Teams often develop ways to make the maneuver possible:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a floor mark;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a change of grip;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a detour;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a signal between colleagues;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a particular way to approach a turn;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a correction before arrival.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These practices should not be ignored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They often class=\"wp-block-heading\">Movement assistance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The operator remains directly involved in the maneuver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The system reduces effort or facilitates movement without completing the whole mission by itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This approach can suit variable routes or operations requiring constant human judgment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Control and supervision<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The operator commands or approves the movement without pushing the structure directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They can choose a position with better visibility while retaining responsibility for the maneuver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Automated mission<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The system carries out a defined operation in an assessed environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The operator prepares the load, authorizes the mission, supervises it and intervenes when the situation requires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most automated level is not automatically the best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The right solution reduces the constraint without making the process unnecessarily complex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The approach echoes a question already explored for existing structures: <a href=\"https:\/\/freemoov.fr\/en\/automatiser-structure-industrielle-existante\/\">choosing the right level of automation<\/a> means selecting the level that solves the problem without adding unnecessary complexity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Test with operators before wider rollout<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A proof of concept should do more than show that a structure can move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It should verify that the system appropriate when:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the operation is very rare;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the load is light and easy to move;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the route changes constantly;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>human judgment is needed at every moment;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the environment cannot be controlled sufficiently;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the solution would be more complex than the task;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>no clear organizational benefit can be identified.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A serious study must be able to conclude that automation is not the best constrained?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What positioning accuracy is required on arrival?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Who should authorize departure?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Who should check the load?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Who should supervise the mission?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What happens if there is an obstacle or stoppage?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How can the structure be cleared?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Which skills must be preserved?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How will operators participate in testing?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How will you check that the constraint has not simply moved to another stage?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p
